Tips from Six Americas study:

·         Don’t need motivation
·         Need action items – clear, actionable suggestions to become part of the solution
·         Adapting to climate change
·         Dangers of climate change for people in other nations, future generations, and other species, will be well received

My recommended case study: Pteropods or phytoplankton

Hatfield Visitors (7) Say:
  • 100% will use it and learn about an animal, 5 of 7 will make a story
  • Case study: 3 phytoplankton, 2 turtle, 2 salmon, 1 crab, newt, pteropod, farmer, "land animals"
  • 100% would share their study including with audio and/ or video
  • Resources wanted: 100% data charts and diagrams, text, 80% scientific data
  • 60% videos and pictures
  • 100% want local info, and some said they want local so they can know what to do
  • 2 also want carbon footprint calculator and other action items
  • 1 who wouldn't make a story wanted to read stories of others
  • Some said they would only interact with the exhibit if it looked like they'd learn something new

Carbon Footprint Calculator

Chapter 2 of Big Energy Gamble by PBS- neighborly competition between Ed Begley and Bill Nye to reduce carbon footprint
